Dr. Hamed Darabi
Chief Technology Officer
Hamed Darabi received his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, where he extensively studied reservoir simulator development and mathematical modeling. For his dissertation, he developed a model for wettability alteration due to asphaltene instability in crude oil, and developed a compositional simulator to model asphaltene precipitation, flocculation, and deposition in oil reservoir and near wellbore. He also developed a compositional thermal simulator embedded in UTCOMP to simulate thermal EOR processes and capture the effect of temperature on asphaltene precipitation in WAG process. Dr. Darabi first served as an intern for QRI before moving into his current position. While an intern he developed a multi-peak decline curve analysis package.
